Yesterday I have remembered a day..when I was in 9th grade..

A Elocution competition was arranged by science institute of cotton research..

Topic was Is Science is useful or not..I cannot able to collect exact wording..

All most all top school were participating in competition..we had given our nominations to our class teacher..we were 13-14 ppl nominated for debate from our school..we start preparing..

I have written a long script..I have taken side of science as many of us did..:-)..we prepared our speech and it was nice..before two days of real competition..we have to deliver our speech in front of our principal.. we enthusiastically given it.. after my turn my principal told me.."hey there are already soo many ppls are given in pro science as it is useful..why donot give it in negative side..that science is not useful in our lives"How it is sound..my principal asked me ..I was shocked..but maam...in low voice I said, I have already prepared my speach...at last moment...My principal uttered "No,look there are many in pro of this and their script are pretty good...we need few ppl to have speack against science..so .."

I nodded my head sadly..

My friends were happy as their speech was intact... infact finalised..

I was feeling low.." y to me " ...I m feeling somehow dejected in front of other frnss..

on the way to going home ...ohh almost most of schools of town are participating..now have start from scratch ,1 and 1/2 day remaining.. :( talk negative abote science that also in cotton research of science institute..y they will give the number who is talking hell about science..my chances r pretty low..

some how I collected myself..hey but y should i give up...I will try...I uttered to myself..

I returned to home "hey mom my topic has been changed ..nowi have speak against science ..at last moment.."

My mom say..."i will give some points ..donot loose hopes"

My mom given so me points such as "bhopal gas explosion.."Some points I thought about my own "such as nuclear weapons,bad use of atomic energy,increment stress and competition"...some how destruction of social life...TV as idiot box..heavy school bags and homework spoiling innocent childhoodd..ha ha..I got many points..:-)..my speech is ready..

I practiced in front my sisters..:-) they have to listen me...as i m youngest...:-))))

on the Day of real competition ..a big bus came to our school..we all students sat in that bus..

On venue there are soo many student... I got the Idea..competition is bvery high...Nobody here to loose..everyone in their respective school uniforms...looking confident...

then we hshown whole premise..is really huge....they shown their machines..and many more..not remembered anything right now..

Then we had snacks..and competition started.........

I have seen small but elegant eagle trophy for first prize..Hey I want that one..I said to myself..

after many english and marathi speeches my number came....

I have decided ...this is first time when i m on such abig dais..I have seen some mischievous guys of my school on front row...my confidence on away to go...I cannot ..But then have decided not to look at them at all..some cool guys and gals are sitting in middle rows..I targetted my vision to them ..Started...initial shaky voice becames confident ...I m speaking from heart..I m feeling what science did wrong with lives..."many ppl died bcoz nuclear explosion","world war","day to day sytress in life",competition spoiled childhood",playgrouds are replaced by TV/video games" ..accidents..I m feeling everything at that moment..and spoke it out...

There was huge claps after my speech..I heard...

there was time announce..First they called number 3..he was someone else..second ..he was some else..

then they announce First prize goes to....................pindrop silence in whole hall..someone screemed from background..must be Leena.. announcer said "Yes She is Leena saraf from paranjape High school..." :-)..
